What is Daily Kairos?

Daily Kairos is a personal Bible study companion for iPad and iPhone. It pairs any Scripture passage with AI-generated reflections — context, applications, historical background, cross-references, and more — so every reading becomes a richer, deeper encounter with the text.

⚙️ How it works

Daily Kairos uses your own API keys to fetch Bible text and generate AI reflections. This means the app never stores your data on our servers — everything goes directly from your device to the providers you configure.

You will need two things before the app is fully functional:

  1. An ESV API key to retrieve Scripture passages.
  2. An AI provider to generate reflections. On supported devices, Apple Intelligence is used automatically with no setup required. Otherwise, configure OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or a custom provider.

💡 A note about AI-generated content

Daily Kairos uses AI to help you explore Scripture — generating context, applications, historical background, and cross-references to enrich your reading. We think it's a genuinely useful tool for personal study, and we want you to get the most out of it with clear eyes.

AI can and does make mistakes. It may occasionally misattribute a historical detail, present a theological perspective as settled fact, or generate a cross-reference that doesn't quite fit. The reflections are a starting point for exploration — not a replacement for careful reading, trusted commentaries, or the guidance of your church community.

The ESV Bible text itself is accurate — it is retrieved directly from Crossway's official API, exactly as published. The AI-generated sections are clearly separate from the Scripture text.

We encourage you to cross-check anything that surprises or challenges you with good sources: a trusted study Bible, a reputable commentary, or a knowledgeable pastor or teacher. Use Daily Kairos as a conversation starter with the text — and bring your own discernment to everything it generates.

🔒 Privacy first
Your API keys are stored only on your device in the iOS Keychain and are never sent to Daily Kairos servers. All requests go directly from your device to the API provider you choose.
